Baby Boys Names

With your baby on the way, you would naturally be looking for a name to call your little one by. Some parents do feel naturally inclined to select baby boys’ names from among their favorite Hollywood stars. It does have its benefits, but it can also be embarrassing for a child later on, if the star gets embroiled in a serious controversy. While choosing from among baby boys’ names, keep an eye on the initials. They can form unpleasant acronyms, which your child’s classmates can use to tease him.

Complementary Names

Some parents prefer to choose masculine names for their male child. The sex of a baby is clearly indicated through his name. There is a declining tendency to adopt names that suit either gender. In fact, you would like a name that will suit your baby boy through all the stages of his life, starting from childhood, teenage, adulthood, career, middle age and old age. A great name will complement your child’s characteristics.

Though parents may have the tendency to opt for unique names, they may backfire if the child has to spell out his name every time it is misspelled or mispronounced. He may even be teased if his name sounds funny to his classmates. An unusual name should balance out with a normal one. Two unusual names may sound too odd. A unique name with a normal middle or last name will sound better.

The first name of your baby is the most important aspect of his identity, as it is going to stick with him his entire life. It is not going to be an easy decision, as your concern will be whether the name ultimately suits your baby’s personality when he grows up.
